We are an architectural practice covering Retford and beyond! Mainly concentrating on residential work – extensions, conversions, alterations, renovations and new-build houses, we also work on small commercial retail projects and carry out fire risk assessments for high street shops throughout the UK. We are also conscious of the environmental impact of buildings and are members of the AECB (Association for Environment Conscious Building) which is a network of individuals and companies with a common aim of promoting sustainable building.
For people who have never undertaken a building project before, the process can seem complicated and daunting. Each project starts with an accurate measured survey of the site or property before plans, elevations and sections of the existing buildings are prepared. There is a skill to making a building layout work, particularly with extensions, so that the new and old function together to create a stylish, practical and flowing space. We will interpret your ideas, wants and needs then draw up proposals for your dream home using 3D modelling software which will help you to visualize your project. The process often involves marriage guidance, counselling and requires patience but hopefully we can make this fun! We will take the hassle out of obtaining planning and building regulations approvals, keeping you informed of progress every step of the way.
We provide a very personal service to ensure that clients get the very best design, service and technical standards with most of our work coming from personal recommendation. We also understand that you have busy lives, so we are available outside normal 9-5 hours. So, give us a call to discuss your project - you don’t need to know what you want, only that you want something better than you already have!

Tracy Boardman
Principle director of Project 3 Architecture
I started my career in 1987, training with a traditional architects practice for 11 years, starting on the drawing board then progressing to cad and now using the latest 3D modelling software. I qualified as an architectural technologist and became a full member of the CIAT in 2002. I have worked on a varied range of building projects including schools, department stores, high street brands, supermarkets, churches, listed buildings and housing.
My work has allowed me to travel from the Scottish Highlands to New Zealand which has given me fresh inspiration and a wider view of building design and construction. I personally understand the stresses that building can create having renovated and extended numerous houses and getting hands-on with my own self build.
I love the challenge of taking an ugly, dated house with a bad layout and transforming it into something light, functional and stylish. Passionate about nature and the environment, I am currently studying the AECB CarbonLite retrofit training course on low energy building retrofit and methodology.
